Wednesday league (Beginners) - 7 pm

Did we say beginners? Let us rephrase that!

Beginners in table tennis is a relative word since many people around the world play table tennis in their own unique way. Some of our Wednesday’s players are advanced ping pong players and some others bring their amazing tennis skills. Along with them, we have our table tennis students which are looking to perfect their technique and advance in our rankings.

What is the difference between table
tennis, tennis and ping pong?
A lot! But we are going to keep it short and simple. The answer is equipment and technique.

Equipment: In theory, all ping pong players have to use the same paddle.
The traditional ping pong paddle uses sandpaper instead of using professional rubbers, this means that the paddle can not create spin, is less consistent and the ball travels slower. However, nowadays, many ping pong players use recreational paddles. These paddles vary in quality and are a bit faster than the original ping pong paddle, but none of them can match a professional table tennis paddle.

What is the main difference between tennis and table tennis?

Besides the equipment, is the technique. Table tennis strokes are more compact and explosive, this means that in a shorter stroke a table tennis player can produce more power, spin and speed than a tennis player, which is used to big swings. This creates a huge advantage for the table tennis player since he/she will be able to finish points in the blink of an eye.

Finally, it is important to Keep in mind that since there are different levels in ping pong, tennis and table tennis, it is not out of the ordinary that these 3 different styles can compete and beat each other in the entry or intermediate level. This is why our Wednesday league is so unique and interesting, we are sure that you will not only train your body, but your brain too!

On the other hand, in table tennis you can find thousands of options when it comes to professional paddles and rubbers, this changes the speed and increases the consistency of the game dramatically. See for yourself:
